Our Director is Caroline Ottinger
Caroline is a public relations and communications professional who has worked and consulted in the United States, Australia, Cambodia and the United Kingdom. She has extensive experience managing global media and public relations campaigns and writing for national and international audiences, and has worked as a journalist.
Caroline was Oxfam Australia’s national media manager for over three years, travelling to East Timor, Cambodia and India as the agency’s media manager and spokesperson during humanitarian crises. She worked in Cambodia as a reporter on the English-language newspaper Phnom Penh Post and as a stringer at Deutsche Presse Agentur.
As International Media Manager for Oxfam International she worked in Oxfam and Washington DC, implementing successful communications campaigns and leading media staff working across 30 countries.
For the past eight years Caroline has been based in Australia, working with the Victorian Government for five years and also consulting extensively.
At the Department of Environment, Land, Water & Planning, Caroline managed the State Government’s $9.5 million water behaviour change campaign, delivering a significant reduction in Melbourne’s water use. She also managed media and communication projects for the climate change, environmental policy, bio-diversity and water portfolios.
Caroline has a Masters in International Relations from Deakin University and a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations, RMIT University.
